Good Morning!

It is one of those exquisite mornings after rain with a mix of dark gray and pink.  More rain is predicted and this is the pause.

I have been reading Temple Grandin's book, Animals Make Us Human.   It is not a quick read but perhaps gives some clues as to why the people of this country have become so fearful.  She has worked to change how animals are slaughtered and it has become more humane, but the practices have been unimaginable, so eating meat is eating fear.   This book is taking me months to read because I have to stop and absorb the atrocities.  Yes, we have a great deal to learn from our animal friends and this book is an essential beginning.

Animals wouldn't pollute their feeding areas.  Some animals do plan ahead, do store food, but there is not the disparity we see in this country, the selfishness, unconsciousness and greed.

Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote:  If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore!

And yet, life is that precious, each day unique.

Jon Carroll has some things to say about Texas and their Board of Misinformation.   Yes, the children will find out the truth one day but how tragic it is that we would misinform our children, the greatest gift we share.
