Perceiving

Last night in Toastmasters, the evening was introduced with an exercise.  We were asked to quickly sketch the person across from us.  Some people, in 30 seconds, had likenesses.  I had an oval with two circles for eyes, a half-circle for a mouth, and a mass of curls.  I also drew in a neck and added pearls.  I'm good at circles.

Synchronously, I come to the computer this morning and notice there has been a series on drawing in the NY Times.  You can look at this and go backwards, or start at the beginning, and learn about noticing energy and force as you draw.

I realized I write to process information but I could also incorporate drawing.

It is the last day of June.  Tomorrow begins the second half of the year and yet, we have no big celebration for this day.  We have the 4th of July but that is a different event, a fireworks display and summer eating extravaganza that honors what happened in the past.  This is today.  What intention do we set for the second half of the year?
