I settle into a chair by the window with The Listening Book, Discover Your Own Music, by W.A. Mathieu. Though it is enchanting with fun things to do, I note that it's not raining that hard so I head outside to see how the plants are doing. Some work is needed so I prune, lift, restore, arrange, and fertilize. I pick red and yellow roses and camellias, and after awhile, it stops raining and the sun comes out, and the day is calm. The only outside sounds are birds and sunlight sinking into the bare skin of my uplifted face like purrs.
