As the year closes, I think it is helpful to begin giving thanks for all the blessings of this year. I know it might be easier to focus on the latest depressing headline, but I think it is important to end the year free and clear.
I look out on gray today, a gray that softens the landscape and brings the vibration of green even more into my awareness. I give thanks for this day.
I want to emphasize that what is posted on Connection Well is private unless one chooses to share it. Stephanie chose to share her poem, and I am grateful that she did, as she so beautifully articulated what needs to be said.
A friend of mine wrote a letter to Sub-Zero, when she had inexplicable problems with her refrigerator. They responded monetarily well. Appliances are not being made to the same standards they once were. That is why they appear relatively cheap, but when one counts service calls and replacement costs, they are expensive. I suggest as one new year's resolution that we write letters when we are not pleased with what we receive.
The only way to change things is to speak. Use the power of the word this year and reverberate to the words of Stanley Kunitz. I repeat them because each day is new. We may wonder if we believe in reincarnation but daily life allows us each day to renew.
from "The Round"
I can scarcely wait until tomorrow
when a new life begins for me,
as it does each day,
as it does each day.
- Stanley Kunitz
