The worry gene -

The Wall Street Journal has an article by Melinda Beck on the Worry Gene.  Worry may help us prepare and there is a place where it is too much.  Techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy can help.  It is to find the balance between productive and unproductive worrying, says psychologist  Robert L. Leahy, director of the American Institute for Cognitive Therapy.  He says if the worry is not leading to a "To Do" list, to some action on your part, it should be set aside.  He suggests reserving 20 minutes a day to worry, if worry is a problem for you, so that you have control over it, rather than it having control over you.   He also suggests saying over and over again what worries you.  He says eventually you'll get bored with it.

And that is what is so great about us.  Stimulation Ho!
