I spoke with my friend Lee this morning. Her friend Michael is dying of Parkinson's. Each visit to him may be her last.
He can't really speak so struggles to write what he needs to say and yet, his presence is so soft, inviting, and comfortable that just that can be enough.
Last night he wrote this:
I would say that the most important thing is loving everything in this world without exception.

I pointed out in my comment that if you don't build an empire, then you can't fall. It seems obvious to me that our occupying another nation is not allowing that nation to be free.
