Jane's Poem -

Jane was responding to the new book that is out by David Rieff, on the death of his mother Susan Sontag.  She was a fighter, decades of fighting cancer.  The book is Swimming in a Sea of Death.

For Susan Sontag
 
 
The desire to live
 
that burns in some
 
compels the fight
 
denies acceptance
 
is it ego holding fast
 
or the force that permeates
 
the tree and holds it half in ground
 
and half in air for centuries?
