I am trying to understand the idea of "content" as regards LiveJournal. I always felt they did me a great favor by providing this place to post and share, but now I see that I am part of this, as are we all who post, and we offer something for them to "sell." It is odd to feel that reversal, almost like when one sees from the point of view of negative space for the first time.
It is as though we each write a page of a book.
I just read The Dream of a Beast by Neil Jordan. He directed the movie The Crying Game, which if you ever saw it, is memorable. He won an Oscar for best screenplay. What do I say about this book? It is as though I was driven, as driven as the main character, and I could not stop reading, until I came to the end. I went straight through, tossed on the prongs of beautiful language, balanced on anthers, rubbed with pollen, like pistils and stamens waved through air. I read that it is "not for everyone," and I think for those for whom it strikes a chord, it is quite a romp.
I picked my first tulip today, a purple one, deep purple, with a soft, rich gaze.
