Mark Morford makes a valid point in his column today. He points out the power that Laura Bush has as first lady and yet what has she accomplished or set in motion? Nothing. There is nothing she has done. I have thought of it before, and figured it was just as well, as her husband has done more than enough to set us backwards, but Morford's point is that her nothingness, her blandness, her lack of sexiness or passion has unconsciously set us back as to the place of woman as nvisible, passionless and voiceless. He thinks she has done as much damage as her husband. I don't know if that is possible, but I consider it this morning. I always found it unfathomable that Bush, who had the money and time, never had the curiosity to visit Europe. Who is not curious about the world outside their own country, outside themselves?
Well, here they are, two Bushes, with no curiosity, or even awareness, of what they might have done for liberty and peace. They squandered their power and abilities as readily as our tax dollars, infrastructure, and human lives.
