John McCain - computer illiterate -

I just learned from papananook that John McCain is computer illiterate.  I missed it in the news, but now I have seen the video.  I thought at first it was a joke, but McCain admits it.  He doesn't even seem to know what it says about him, about his lack of curiosity on a revolution that equals the discovery of the cultivation of fire and the invention of the printing press.

I am astonished that not only does he not use the computer, but he openly admits he doesn't use it.  He doesn't seem to realize how out of the loop he is, how out of touch, and how computer use and interaction is affecting communication, connection and our brains.

I continue to be amazed!  It is like Bush not knowing gas was approaching $4.00 a gallon.  How can one lead a country in a world where one doesn't even know what is going on?  I was astonished that Bush had never been to Europe before becoming president.  His lack of curiosity and his lack of a sense of adventure shocked me.  How can McCain not have felt the invitation, even once, to enter a computer store and click a few keys, and then be snagged at what is there?  How could one not feel some desire to learn and interact with what everyone is talking about? How can one lead the hopefully still greatest country in the world without curiosity and reception to invitation and this exciting new world we share?  Ack!     His bland face reflects a bland mind.
