I'm in a good mood despite reading the morning news. I do have to wonder at this one. I am reading an article, on how "The Housing Bill has something for everyone." Well, that's certainly hunky-dory, though I don't see anything in there for me. Oh, right. I am the one who pays for the clean-up. I'm thrilled that there is something there for my altruistic self.
Anyway, this boggles my mind.
"So who is eligible? You need to have originated your troubled loan or loans on or before Jan. 1, 2008. The loans in question must be on your primary residence. Vacation homes and investment properties are ineligible. You will also need to verify your income, which many borrowers did not have to do in recent years."
Borrowers did not have to verify their income in recent years?
It is beyond my imagination, and I thought I was on the imaginative side of things.
One trickle of fog is peeking over the hill this morning. We've been enjoying cool temperatures, but I will be down at Jeff's tomorrow, and up in Napa, Sunday to Friday, and I see the temperatures are in the 90's so it will be a wee shock to the system, though thirty degrees is nothing in adjustment when I consider that house loans were given on homes sold at ridiculously inflated prices to people without verifying their income. I continue to be amazed.
I note now that the article said something for "almost" everyone. I wonder how huge the number is for we who are not in the "almost" category. We almost got something from our government for all the taxes we pay. What a concept.
