The Blue Angels were here practicing today, and will fly Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoon.
It is actually quite something as they slice our sky, though a tremendous waste of fuel. Actually in light of what is going on, I would think they would cancel the performance this year.
They were organized by Adm. Chester Nimitz, and have been flying since 1946. Each jet is 56 feet long, costs $21 million and flies at about 1,400 mph, or 23 times faster than a BART train.
Again, in light of the loss of jobs and money, the theatrics and entertainment make no sense at all, and, as we know, the show of our military might must go on.
