I greatly admire The Peace Pilgrim. http://www.peacepilgrim.com/
I have come to see that walking as she did is not going to happen for me in this lifetime, but I did head out for a couple of hours today of just walking, just considering, trying to understand why there is so much conflict on this planet.
I think part of it is that there are too many people, but I know people who live in rural areas and there are still conflicts. If anything, close quarters force us to more awareness of those around us. We have to follow societal rules.
I continue to wonder how we balance the need for the destructiveness that invites creativity with living together, all nationalities, traditions, cultures, religions, in peace.
I was thinking of the Dr. Seuss book today where people fight over which side of the bread is buttered.
Anyway, my mantra for today is walk, walk, walk, breathe, breathe, breathe, peace, peace, peace!!
