When I read that Rush Limbaugh says "I hope he fails," about Obama's stimulus plan and plan to create jobs, I have to wonder how anyone could support what Limbaugh says. Surely those who are now out of work are going to wake up to the depth of the crisis and support whatever makes sense. Surely we all are. We are daily made more aware of the corruption in leaders in both political parties, which we probably knew was there, but chose to ignore, but every day in this country, the situation becomes more dire. I tend to be an optimist and I keep looking for positive signs in the economy and I am not seeing them. We need to work together, all of us, unite so that everyone in this country has food, shelter, education, and possibility.
I have always loved that the authors of the Declaration of Independence were thoughtful enough to include the "pursuit of happiness." What is it about that pursuit that Limbaugh speaks against? It is easy for him. He has a job, but what about those who do not, and if we, the people, are no longer educated enough or intelligent enough to figure it out, then, maybe we do need to go down as a country, but we did elect Barack Obama, legitimately elect him. He is our president. Let's support what he tries to do.
