Good Morning!

I am still with Earth Hour and the feeling of power it gave to us as the power was turned off. We lit candles, though they were unnecessary, as we could have sat in the dark, but we were inspired by portable fire as we talked and talked. Our neighbors seemed unaware so light still flared across the way, and the stars were out, but that hour devoted to nothing but conversation seems to have carried over into our lives, and I notice we are talking more and spending less time at our computers.

Of course the weather here is exquisite. I think each year I forget how beautiful is spring.

Thomas Merton wrote that, "Meanwhile, we are passing through the desert on our way to the promised land."

It is quite a beautiful desert. Perhaps each moment is the promised land.

I wanted to watch Dicken's Little Dorrit on Masterpiece Theatre so sat down early, and was enchanted by Kilauea: Mountain of Fire on Nature. There is actual footage from underwater of lava as it enters the sea and pillows and builds land. The images of fire are warming my day, the currents of lava, the pulse of movement, the spark of life as it fires.
