Good Morning!
I love this time of year, the turn toward fall, the leaves beginning to blow down the streets, the morning darkness, the moon so clear.
I read The Rings of Saturn by W.G. Sebald yesterday. It is quite a book, sobering in a way, a look at rise and fall, decline and change.
I woke from a dream where a group of people were going to put me to death. I talked them out of it by the end of the dream, and there was this incredible feeling of reprieve. Perhaps every day should be lived like that, with reverence for all we do, for each moment, activity, rest, step.
TODAY
I
Do not
Want to step so quickly
Over a beautiful line on God's palm
As I move through the earth's
Marketplace
Today.
Do not
Want to step so quickly
Over a beautiful line on God's palm
As I move through the earth's
Marketplace
Today.
I do not want to touch any object in this world
Without my eyes testifying to the truth
That everything is
My Beloved.
Without my eyes testifying to the truth
That everything is
My Beloved.
Something has happened
To my understanding of existence
That now makes my heart always full of wonder
And kindness.
To my understanding of existence
That now makes my heart always full of wonder
And kindness.
I do not
Want to step so quickly
Over this sacred place on God's body
That is right beneath your
Own foot
Want to step so quickly
Over this sacred place on God's body
That is right beneath your
Own foot
As I
Dance with
Precious life
Today.
Dance with
Precious life
Today.
