I am in heaven. We left at five this morning and drove over the Sonora Pass. There was snow on the mountain tops and we passed through every kind of landscape. Then we dropped down to Mono Lake and are now in an absolutely perfect spot. We are cradled by mountains. I've been out exploring and stumbled on a labyrinth made of rocks and logs and climbed up on some rocks and sunned. What a contrast to the city this is. What beauty! I begin to return to my own natural rhythm and not the frenetic buzz of a city where, thanks to chains, so much is the same.
It is quiet. The wind is shaking the aspen leaves so they make a soft little patter like geisha feet on tatami mats. I think they may be the sound of one hand clapping. There are some autumn colors and the sky is still blue though the clouds are coming in. We are hoping to see the stars tonight before we are enclosed, but however it is, it is absolutely perfect. I slow and turn in a circle of healing, my feet so grateful for the vibration of the earth.
