I am heading out early today as the Bay Bridge is still closed, and I heard the ferries were packed yesterday and people were turned away. I plan to get there early so I can get on. Bart has increased trains, but as far as I can tell, the ferries are still on the weekend schedule which is minimal at best. I'm hoping they will run more ferries today, but, just in case, I'll be there early and then, hope I can get back.
Happy Halloween, a day to welcome and remember the spirits of those who have passed. That is why we give away candy. Light a candle for those you love and welcome them for a visit back and then, send them happily on an exploratory way.
In an article by Henry Shukman on the Ridgeway Trail in England, I read that the "Ridgeway is the oldest continuously used road in Europe, dating back to the Stone Age. Situated in England, built by our Neolithic ancestors, it's at least 5,000 years old, and may even have existed when England was still connected to continental Europe, and the Thames was a tributary of the Rhine."
How exiting is that!
Think of all your ancestors today traveling on ancestral trails to find their way back to you today, tomorrow and the next day. What surrounds us is rich.
