A beautiful morning -

I love this time of year. It rained yesterday and there is snow on the mountaintops. The moon was shining in the sky this morning, an open eye in a maze of clouds, pink, silver-white linings, and fog.

The Holiday season feels well-begun and I am in decorating and card-writing mode. It began with putting on my red, decorated with snowmen, socks for an annual brunch and my Holiday bell and "I Believe in Santa" button.

All of this requires a cleaning out as pulling out one thing leads to seeing something else and realizing that there is a great deal here that can move on to another. It is that time of year.

I love this quote from Thomas Merton. It seems we can't escape this thing called love. All my cells feel pumped on love, little helium balloons floating up and down. I keep looking at the words, Peace on Earth. May it one day be so. For now, peace begins within. Tranquility is my word for the day.

Thought for the Day

Whether or not you claim to be interested in it, from the moment you are alive you are bound to be concerned with love, because love is not just something that happens to you: it is a certain special way of being alive.
