Evening -
It has been one of those special days of synchronicity and flow. I came upon some middle school children, about fifty of them, standing in rows, led in singing by an enthusiastic teacher-conductor. It brought tears to my eyes as I listened to songs of Hanukkah and Christmas carols. Children singing is such a blessing. It has been cold, very cold, and brisk. I find myself moving quickly and easily along, savoring these winter days. There are birds everywhere, feasting fully between storms.
The Body a Tree
by Hafiz - (translated by Daniel Ladinsky)
The body a tree.
God a wind.
When He moves me like this,
like this,
Angels bump heads with each other
Gathering beneath my cheeks,
Holding their wine
Barrels
Catching the brilliant tear,
Pearl
Rain.
