The Tao of Willie

I am still with The Tao of Willie by Willie Nelson with Turk Pipkin.

He quotes The Tao Te Ching at the beginning of his chapter, "Still Is Still Moving".

Which of you can make yourself inert,
to become in the end, completely full of life?

- The Tao Te Ching

Willie points out that Einstein proved "that the faster we travel, the more time is compressed.  That's right, the faster we go, the less time we have.  So what's your hurry?"

I think we all have experienced that place of creative focus where time doesn't seem to pass.  I hadn't thought of it as Willie expresses it though I love this quote of Mahatma Gandhi:

"I have so much to accomplish today that I must meditate for two hours instead of one."

Willie continues:  "To glide through life with abandon is effortless. A deep-rooted center of calm, which may be surrounded at times by a whirlwind of energy, you are the captain of your own ship, sailing toward the future."

Enjoy!
