The Nation Magazine is requesting that readers write what patriotism means to them. It is something to sit and think about.
I find myself with this, idealistic as it may be:
Patriotism is the Golden Rule applied to a nation, the knowing that nourishing and educating each individual to their fullest capabilities benefits the nation as a whole. Honoring an inner moral compass leads to kindness and care.
Thanks to Torpidai, I am modifying the above, to say, "Patriotism is the Golden Rule applied to a global society, a planet, a solar system, an honoring of all worlds."
