the lunar eclipse
The clouds cleared an hour before the eclipse and for the whole "show" - what a gift!
While waiting, I sat outside in front of the house. I heard some rustling on the other side of the bamboo. When I checked to be sure it wasn't a skunk, I met a young buck. He stayed with me, tilting his head up to the sky as though to say, "Can you believe this night?" After awhile he continued on and I came inside and then went out again to watch from the deck. What a sensation to know you are on the planet blocking light to the moon. I waved my hand in the air to see if I might show up as a shadow puppet, but, no, this was a time for imagination to play.
