Who knew?

Yesterday when we arrived in Vancouver we noticed people seemed a little down.  We learned they had been humiliated by Boston on their way to win the Stanley Cup.  Tonight they won the game and have one more to go, and there are 100, 000 people celebrating in the streets.  It is the sweetest large crowd I've ever been in, so polite, so friendly, so happy to high-five, but now it is almost three hours since the end of the game and the non-stop honking and cheering is louder than ever.  It is quite something.  Joy reigns in Vancouver and the B.C. area tonight.

We are congratulating ourselves on the planning for our trip.  I'm not sure I've ever been in something like this.   Bumper to bumper cars and bumper to bumper people on closed to traffic streets, and all continues peacefully jubilant indeed.   Go, Canucks, Go!
