The readers tonight were Rae Armantrout, Bruce Bond, Stephanie Brown, Amy Glenn Greacen, Brenda Hillman, Jane Hirshfield, Dean Rader, and the wonderfully entertaining Kay Ryan. Robert Hass was there but didn't read.
Brenda Hillman read a poem called "Moaning Action at the Gas Pump". She said we should all moan when we fill our tanks because of the environmental damage done, and if we feel funny moaning, we can sort of hum. She had us practice, so we're all ready to go.
It was an inspirational evening, and the stars are out after rain today. I was out shoveling mud today to keep the water in the proper flow, and now, it's a cold, clear night.
It was a wonderful gathering and poetic treat.
