I learn that today is Maundy Thursday, the day that Jesus washed the feet of his disciples. I wonder how often we bend to wash the feet of another, to soothe at the deepest levels those who surround us, those we love, and perhaps those with whom we struggle.
I helped a friend today to describe her work, Essential Motion. I came to her work many years ago. The idea is to move with and from an inner knowing, and to be witnessed. There are many modalities to explore. There was a time when I couldn't do enough of them. I was hungry, and then, one day I was full. It was enough, and yet, still I move between sensory awareness, Rosen, and Essential Motion, while knowing one can simply pause, sit and hold one's own hand, one's own foot, or the hand or foot of another, and in that, there is a connecting that's shared.
