We enjoyed a beautiful four days with our sons and their wives. We rented a lovely home inland a mile or so from Avila Beach along the Central Coast. When I read the description of this woman's art and focus as being about beauty, harmony, and balance, I think those words describe our time together. We shared wonderful meals, champagne, wine, games, talk, and a campfire with s'mores and Tales of the Lakota read out loud. We saw a mother and baby otter playing in kelp. We walked, talked, laughed, warmed and renewed.
I took books but didn't read, and couldn't connect to the internet, so no computer, and it was lavishly luxurious to just sit and talk with Senna content to be centerpiece. Perhaps he was the feather in this artistic peace, or maybe it was knowing that what connects us can't be seen, and yet it floats. I feel like I've been in a cocoon. I may be home, but I'm not yet returned.
