Good Morning!

I am happily digesting the movement work-play of the last five days, and in that I bought new flowers, and honored the Chinese New Year with a Lucky Bamboo.  My entry rocks and bowls are washed and fresh for the coming rain.

There is an article in the Chronicle today on realizing your cat is a small tiger and not a fluffy pillow.   Indoor cats live around fourteen years.  Outdoor cats live two to three years, and yet, indoor cats do need stimulation and care.   They like to be with us.  The article suggests carrying your cat from room to room.  I am blessed.  My two friends follow me.   They are here to help.

I am with this quote today.

"A life without change is not a life; it is a stagnant pool. To change your mind frivolously is a cop-out. To change your mind under the direction of the wisdom of the heart is a brush stroke on the masterpiece you are delivering to the world."

Alan Cohen
"Dare to Be Yourself"

I am reading and enjoying Elaine Mayland's revised book on Rosen Method.
I am also feeling a stronger bonding with and honoring of the Wise Woman, the Crone,  in myself.
May I continue to bloom and flower forth!!
May each of us fuel the daffodils, tulips, and hyacinths budding within!

Stones -

Today, when I was washing my many stones, the small ones seemed like bubbles.  I was holding bubbles that didn't pop.  It was a  wonderful sensation and I think has to do with my sense of time.  In the work/play shop, we spoke of Kairos, God-time.

According to Wikipedia, Kairos is an ancient Greek word meaning the right or opportune moment.   "The ancient Greeks had two words for time, chronos and kairos.  While the former refers to chronological or sequential time, the latter signifies "a time in between", a moment of undetermined period of time in which "something" special happens.  What the special something is depends on who is using the word.  While chronos is quantitative, kairos has a qualitative nature."

I think of kairos as when stones are bubbles, and life is both solid and fluid, open and contained, like now and now and now.  I dip with each beat of the word "now".     My head bobs and bows.

Moving along -

"Employ the power of positive quitting. Most of us view quitting as something negative, but it’s not. ‘Winners never quit,’ we’re told, when, in reality, winners quit all the time: choosing to stop doing things that aren’t creating the results they desire. When you quit all the things that aren’t working for you, when you quit tolerating all the negative things that hold you back, you’ll create a positive ‘charge’ in your life as well as create the space in your life for more positive experiences."

"You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation. "
