"The Big Storm"

So far, the big storm is very mild, just some soft rain this morning.

In Invention and Technology this month, they list the Decades Top Ten Trends in Electronics.  The numbers are astonishing.  In 2001, there were 0 cellcam U.S. unit sales.  In 2010 there were 80 million.  I didn't even have a cell phone ten years ago.  In 2002, there were 0 Facebook users.  In 2010 there were 350 active Facebook users.

Here are the trends:

1. Cellcam
2. Cellphone applications
3. Digital Music
4. DVD/Blu-ray
5. GPS
6. Social Networking
7. Laptops
8. DVR
9. Ebooks
10. Big-screen plasma TV

I read an article today on the number of accidents pedestrians are having as they walk into poles and cars while talking on their cell phones.  They also don't notice what is going on around them while two people walking and talking do.

Did you see that Bill Clinton and George W. Bush are working together to help Haiti?  They have an op-ed in the NY Times today, supposedly written together though probably neither one actually wrote it.  Medical relief for Haiti is being allowed to fly over Cuba air space.  Perhaps we are taking  some steps toward peace.

It looks like a lovely tucked-in day for me.  My intention is to check off  some things on my indoor list.

Happy Sunday to All!
