2014 - beginning -

The year begins softly, gently, for me.  I woke at 2:30 and rose to watch the stars, watched them set, and then, went back to bed to awaken, enchanted with watching a little bird and two bees.

Three of my friends lost someone this last week of 2013.  I am with these words of the Zen teacher Dogen:

To what shall I liken this life?
  Moonlight, reflected in dewdrops

     shaken from a crane's bill.

My intention this year is to honor transience, impermanence, the preciousness of curiosity, strength, letting go, and breath.
