Bob's bird in flight

Memorial Day

Such a sacred day.

I rise and sit, look outside, invited into the life of trees.

I always leave this day open, nothing to do, nowhere to go.

For me, it is a day with space.

I gardened yesterday, pruned, fertilized, spread mulch.  My knees feel it today, so each rising and lowering is accomplished with awareness and care.

I read Tricycle magazine.  People were asked to comment on the Dalai Lama turning eighty.

Martin Scorsese wishes the Dalai Lama what he wishes for the world: courage, energy, focus, clarity, patience, and compassion.

I sit today with those words; I sit with intention to embody, live, and radiate:

courage, energy, focus, clarity, patience, and compassion.

May those six words guide each of us and the world to peace and the end of war.   May we find ways to channel our energy for creation, connection and new ways to live and give.

May we honor those who've given their lives so we can learn and live.

Honoring Our Vets!

Thich Nhat Hanh:

"Veterans are the light at the tip of the candle, illuminating the way for the whole nation. If Veterans can achieve awareness, transformation, understanding and peace, they can share with the rest of society the realities of war. And they can teach us how to make peace with ourselves and each other, so we never have to use violence to resolve conflicts again."
