I finished reading Tamim Ansary's wonderful book, Destiny Interrupted: A History of the World through Islamic Eyes. I recommend it. I also recommend his book The Widow's Husband, which is a novel, so easier reading perhaps. Both books are important.
When my cousin's family moved to the South, my cousin came home from school wanting to know how and why if the Confederacy won all the battles, they lost the Civil War. As adults, we know our childhood learning may have been a little skewed. George Washington may indeed have told a lie, or at least had to fudge the truth to lead, win, govern, and direct a whole new world.
I think it's important for all of us to read the works of Tamim Ansary.

May your day be as peaceful and nurturing as mine. I'm grateful for this day at home. The fog is dissipating and pulling away, like a curtain opening to new ways to discover and play.
