Steve takes a nap, and I begin to absorb in a re-reading of "A General Theory of Love" by Lewis, Amini, and Lannon. I have turned down almost every page from my previous reading, and look forward to re-entering again. You may not be able to step in the same stream twice, but you can re-read a book, and see just where you stand along, or in, the water, and on which bank.
Steve and I watched a wonderful movie last night, "Something the Lord Made," about Vivien Thomas and Alfred Blalock who worked together to save blue babies. It is startling in the reminder of segregation, and just how bad it was. Vivien, a Black man, had to enter John Hopkin's through the servants quarters to do his laboratory work. Now, many black doctors work there, and walk through the front doors. This movie is an example of the power of change and doing and working for and in what you want. It has five stars on Amazon. I say the same.
