We have returned from Nantucket. I learned today that there are now 15,000 permanent residents, and 75,000 people on the island the last two weeks of July, and first two weeks of August. Saturday is change-day, which means that many people renting houses by the week need to be out by ten, so it is quite a gathering of people in "town." I, again, loved the ferry ride, and enjoyed imaging myself in whaling days. I'm reading sailing tales, so it is easy to imagine. It is also great to be home, my Newtown home, and soon, California home, though the heat there is not sounding too enticing. Who would have thought the East Coast would be the cool one in July?
