I am reading Wisdom and the Senses by Joan M. Erikson. I love this little tid-bit. "Windows were called "wind-eyes" in long-ago England and sometimes were even circular, the eyes of the wall." Isn't that a wonderful way to think of it. Wind-eyes!!
I read this morning that though Al Gore preaches conservatism energy-wise, he owns three homes. I'm not throwing stones, since I certainly consume an embarrassing amount, but one of his home is a "10,000 square foot, 20 room, eight bathroom home in Nashville." Something tells me that Tipper is not drying the towels for eight bathrooms on a clothesline in the back yard, but maybe, she is. Who knows? Actually, I suppose soon everyone will know. We can probably zoom in and Google Earth their home and see all the clothes flapping on the line. I do admire what Al Gore is doing, and I suggest he might practice a wee bit more of what he preaches, since, of his own choosing, he has put himself under the environmental awareness microscope.
