Dharma and Art - Prayer -
Monday night, a woman told a story of how spirituality changed for her. She saw a Lama in Nepal competing on a horse in a game, and he won. Then, she saw him sitting in his traditional robes. It reminded me of being in Nepal, at Tengboche, a monastery at 13,000 feet in the Everest region of Nepal. I could hear the monks inside giggling and laughing as they shared their dinner. I, too, saw that spirituality did not have to be silent, or bare.
That led to this.
In
a lama rides
competitively
then still to pray
the walking stalk
of art - where prayer is formed
like clay -
and bell and flag
dance
the wind.
Beads climb hands
warm the peaks -
