I read that it is colder here than New England. This morning there was so much frost on my mailbox glittering in the sun, it looked like snow. I went down by the marsh, and even the ducks were moving slowly in the cold. The tide was up and most of the path was under water, and I shared some moments with my bird friends. I am grateful for these wintery days. I do feel for those who come to California thinking we don't have seasons. Today will certainly dispel that myth.
