Today someone told me of a book called The Lonely Patient: How We Experience Illness by Michael Stein. It sounds like a beautifully created book and my friend said she had not thought of how lonely I must have been. Exactly the opposite, I said. I was inundated with fun things to do. I didn't have the energy for all that was offered, all of it fun - massage, hypnotherapy, art class, on and on. Marin Cancer Care really has come together to create as fulfilling and environment as they can to lead to healing. May their philosophy spread.
