It is our version of beating drums or smoke signals sending messages through the air. We want to know what is going on around us.
I thought of rising for the lunar eclipse but slept through it and yet perhaps we all feel it in some way, our presence between the sun and the moon and what it would have meant to people of our ancient past. to see that beautiful orb slowly nibbled away. And many figured it out, or intuited it perhaps, as they felt within the gravitational shifts.
It was a beautiful evening and full-moon rising. We celebrated the private tour-tasting I bought at the Marin breast cancer fund-raising auction at the Markham winery, and after hearing of the family atmosphere and tasting their wines, I highly recommend them. Each one is delicious, sauvignon blanc, chardonnary, merlot, cabernet, and zinfadel. The winery is the fourth oldest in Napa, and they seated us for the tasting in a lovely dark room surrounded by barrels and lit only with tiny white lights and four candles. It was quite a treat. We had dinner at Angele by the Napa River. Steve and Al started their business 21 years ago in our basement. The kids and our dog Sada and cat Kitty loved it. There was always something going on. They now happily work in downtown Mill Valley and I believe both enjoy their work so it was fun to celebrate their 21 years on such a beautiful day and night.
Today I am doing the taxes. I have put it off as long as possible. We meet with our accountant tomorrow. The deadline is here and what a relief it will be to be done with it for another year. Happy day to all!!
