I read the news and try not to be pulled down into it. Just for this moment it is enough to look out on light greeting the redwood tree. It is one tree that with maturation rises as two, and I see two people standing there, branches spread, absorbing, receiving, and giving too.
Tomorrow we spring ahead with our clocks. Today's time table is the sun's.
Steve and I talk about what might be done with the traffic mess where we live. It does seem that getting people out of their cars is the only way. May we each find some place to walk or bicycle today. On such a day in the Bay area it should be easy. It is a day to move slowly. I noticed at Ring Mountain how much there is to see that is small. Perhaps today can be spent with one square yard of landscape, pieced together to make a quilt of the world.
