Afternoon -

It is a cold,  foggy and wintry March day.  We listened to Garrison Keillor as we were driving around.  He is so funny as he talks about the equinox in Minnesota and people heading out in short sleeves to play golf  only to get caught in a blizzard of snow.  Our shift feels almost as dramatic.  March is a playful one, coming in like a lion and going out like a lamb, though this March may be reversed.   I google it, and see that the quote is actually, "IF March comes in like a lion, it will go out like a lamb."   Ah, hah!!

There is a web-site to explain this to children where they make a little lion and a little lamb.  Now that sounds fun, doesn't it?   Since I am on a multitude of email lists, I got one showing white egg-shaped candles you can buy and decorate with strips of colored wax for Easter.   They look cute, and I'm not sure I will even get eggs colored this year but who knows.  I'll see.

I like what Mark Twain has to say about  golf.  He says it is "A good walk spoiled."

I think this with Elizabeth and John Edwards is leading to important discussions.  Steve is clear that for him work is joyful and he would want to continue it whether he were sick or not.   I think I would need a great deal of reflective time in nature and I wouldn't be out on the campaign trail, but I wouldn't be there if I were well.  Again, it is a day to celebrate that each of us is unique, and then hope we each find and honor our way.

My friend Ellen's cat Mimi is not doing well.  Prayers for Ellen and Mimi!
