Jane and I had quite a discussion of Sicko this morning. She strongly defended Kaiser, and felt he took one homeless woman who was ejected and made it look like Kaiser does not care. Jane works for Kaiser and receives excellent care. Blue Shield was attacked also and I, of course, received excellent care. The point of the movie though is that we need to care for everyone, that we need to take responsibility for all the people in the nation. What I would add, though Michael Moore didn't, is that we also need to emphasize personal responsibility and self-care. I know that Michael Moore has lost weight since he made the movie, and I applaud that, and it is for each of us to consider what we can do as to our own health. In this country, we are offered pills. Perhaps, there are other ways to walk and eat ourselves toward health.
We have another beautiful day. Celebrate the Third of July with the exuberance of the Fourth.
