We enjoyed a beautiful Fourth at Jeff and Jan's, and could even see two sets of fireworks from their house so that works. Clearly, not everyone took a five day weekend as we drove back today with a bit of traffic, but happily with two people, we are a carpool. We are now out to Inverness for a few days, so are excited about that.
I enjoyed Venus in the sky last night amidst all the stars and small planes. I caught the first star and made my wish.
The fog is reappearing. It seemed to be crawling in, rather than coming in as I image it coming in on little cat feet and so now we enter a cooling trend. It was a warm Fourth and a cooler Fifth!!
I like these words of Thoreau.
"We must learn to reawaken and keep ourselves awake, not by mechanical aid, but by an infinite expectation of the dawn."
- Henry David Thoreau
