A friend of mine informs me of very sad news involving two of her friends. I sit with it. She and I sit with it. The Buddha said Life is suffering, and I try to understand how some have so much to endure, and it is to live every moment, valuing each friend, interaction, breath.
There is an article in the Chronicle today on people in Silicon Valley who feel "poor" or sorry for themselves, though they live in lovely homes and have good jobs, but they want more. They don't know enough, don't know satisfaction. Soon enough they will age, and learn that so little is needed to have enough. It takes so little to be overflowingly, overwhelmingly, beautifully full.
