Good Morning!

It is August 11th, just that acknowledgement perhaps enough.  Steve and I have been enjoying preparing breakfast together.   When I was in chemo, I found breakfast at home rather nauseating, so we got in the habit of eating weekend breakfasts out.  Lately, we have realized there is no breakfast as good as one prepared at home.  The eggs are organic and huge and prepared just as we like them, the muffins toasted just right.  With honey from spring wildflowers of Marin, it is quite a delight.  I picked fresh roses and gardenias for the table, and am feeling deliciously satisfied and full.  The orange we shared was vibrant and juicy, the grapefruit juice both sweet and tart.

So, as I read more, I see that many writers go through a dissolution period where they question the origin and need for words, and then they swirl back in.  The caterpillar turns to soup in the coccoon, and then, emerges with wings.  I think I am still in a soupy state, and yet, I like this state.  I am paying attention like a newborn child.  I feel my eyes as huge, receptive disks.   Yesterday I went down to Palo Alto to meet with friends.  I arrived early so hung out in the Stanford Shopping Center.  Though the stores are the same, the place is different than here.  It is an hour drive and it is a different world.  It is quite fun to be a tourist in my own land.   Each day there is so much to see, experience, and explore.

Happy Saturday to you!   Here is to New Eyes!   Discover!  Explore!
