Tuesday Evening:
We ate dinner at the top of our building, in TOTTS, and it was magnificent. The view from the 34th floor is of the
Steve pointed out we have seen dragonflies, and he has noted cockroaches, big ones, by some of the garbage bins, so there you have it. There are all kinds of life on this island.
There is a moon tonight, an increasing crescent, with a golden tint.
The night is lively with light.
I offer some haiku from Basho – 1644-1694.
Clouds appear
and bring to me a chance to rest
from looking at the moon.
Harvest moon:
around the pond I wander
and the night is gone.
No blossoms and no moon
and he is drinking sake
all alone!
The fragrant blossoms remain.
