Ah, awe!!

The brunch was lovely with people we have known for over 27 years, and new people too.  It was a fun mix.   They do it every year and it has gone from a number of small children underfoot and in arms, to one dog, and a good many tall, young men.  I will soon head into the city and the De Young and then go down with Elaine to Mitchell's Memorial Service.

What can I say on that?

I believe in "Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus."   I saw a fire truck today and remembered how when my children were little, the fire truck went by on Christmas Eve with Santa atop and waving.  We all believed, and still do.  There is so much love and beauty in the world, and who knows why some die young.

I was in a store at Strawberry and the salesman told me the young UPS delivery man died recently in a motorcycle accident on Highway 12.  He had just attended the memorial.   He said all those who work in the shopping center are devastated because the man always came in and left with a smile.  We don't know how many people we affect.  We don't know why some die young and some of us are here longer, but it is certainly the day to appreciate every moment here in this form on earth.

May each of us journey easily and well today!
